Alors que Gatsby utilise une esth\u00e9tique et une musique moderne, James Gray essaye quant \u00e0 lui de reproduire l\u2019image fid\u00e8le de cette \u00e9poque tr\u00e8s difficile.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">C\u2019est l\u2019histoire d\u2019une personne seule qui essaye de s\u2019en sortir \u00e0 son entr\u00e9e aux USA, ce qui \u00e9tait beaucoup le cas \u00e0 ce moment-l\u00e0. Une jeune femme Ewa (Marion Cotillard) qui essaye de passer la fronti\u00e8re et avoir une meilleure vie. En revanche, sa s\u0153ur Magda ne peut pas poursuivre le r\u00eave am\u00e9ricain de sa s\u0153ur car atteinte de tuberculose, elle est contrainte de rester sur Ellis Island. Pour l\u2019aider, Ewa fera tout pour la sauver, m\u00eame \u00eatre pi\u00e9g\u00e9e par les manipulations de Bruno (Joaquin Phoenix) et contrainte de se prostituer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Ce th\u00e8me fait bien sur penser au film \u00ab\u00a0Il \u00e9tait une fois en Am\u00e9rique\u00a0\u00bb de Sergio Leone o\u00f9 une personne voit ses r\u00eaves d\u00e9truits par un destin tragique. Mais ce film d\u00e9passe de tr\u00e8s loin celui-ci.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">En effet, m\u00eame si vous pourriez \u00eatre charm\u00e9s par la photographie et l\u2019ambiance cozy des ann\u00e9es 20, le d\u00e9veloppement des personnages et de l\u2019histoire sont tr\u00e8s minimes. On ne sait pas vraiment ce qu\u2019apporte le triangle amoureux entre Marion Cotillard, Joaquin Phoenix et Jeremy Renner puisqu\u2019il n\u2019a pas vraiment \u00e9t\u00e9 exploit\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">C\u2019est peut-\u00eatre le risque quand un grand r\u00e9alisateur a \u00e0 sa disposition de grands acteurs, ils sont peut-\u00eatre trop \u00ab\u00a0grands\u00a0\u00bb pour une histoire aussi banale.
