La premi\u00e8re chose \u00e0 laquelle j\u2019ai pens\u00e9 en regardant le film, \u00e9tait que je venais de sortir de deux heures de cours de litt\u00e9rature anglaise traitant du romantisme, de l\u2019\u00e9poque victorienne et du f\u00e9minisme. Deux choix s\u2019offraient \u00e0 moi : soit je m\u2019en allais en courant, soit je restais parce que j\u2019appr\u00e9cie l\u2019\u00e9poque \u00e0 laquelle se d\u00e9roule l\u2019histoire. Je suis rest\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

Se d\u00e9roulant dans la deuxi\u00e8me moiti\u00e9 du 19e si\u00e8cle, en pleine \u00e8re victorienne, nous suivons les tourments de Bathsheba Everdene (Carey Mulligan), jeune femme \u00e0 premi\u00e8re vue ind\u00e9pendante et libre d\u2019esprit (mais qui se r\u00e9v\u00e8le \u00eatre aussi plate que niaise), vivant dans la ferme qu\u2019elle a fra\u00eechement h\u00e9rit\u00e9 de son oncle et qu\u2019elle se doit de g\u00e9rer. L\u2019histoire serait bien \u00e9videmment trop simple si on n\u2019y ajoutait pas un triangle amoureux qui se transforme progressivement en \u00ab rectangle \u00bb amoureux compos\u00e9 de Carey Mulligan, Matthias Schoenaerts, Michael Sheen et Thomas Sturridge.<\/p>\n

Le film est donc centr\u00e9 sur \u00e7a, l\u2019histoire d\u2019amour, ce drame amoureux vu et revu qui ne se r\u00e9v\u00e8le finalement pas original du tout, ce qui est bien dommage. On en retirait de ce film que l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9gance des costumes d\u2019\u00e9poques, une belle photographie qui s\u2019apparenterait \u00e0 des natures mortes et une bande originale (compos\u00e9e par Craig Armstrong) s\u2019incrustant \u00e0 merveille avec le d\u00e9cor.<\/p>\n

Carey Mulligan qui interpr\u00e8te le personnage f\u00e9minin du film ne ressort pas particuli\u00e8rement par son interpr\u00e9tation. Les deux seules questions qu\u2019elle se pose du d\u00e9but \u00e0 la fin sont comment faire en sorte de ne pas perdre la ferme et qui \u00e9pouser? Le voisin riche mais \u00e2g\u00e9 (Michael Sheen), le berger int\u00e8gre mais pauvre (Matthias Schoenaerts) ou le soldat prestigieux mais manipulateur (Thomas Sturridge).<\/p>\n

L\u2019histoire tient tout de m\u00eame la route gr\u00e2ce aux deux interpr\u00e9tations de Matthias Schoenaerts et Michael Sheen. \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n
