After the almost surprise success of Kingsman: The Secret Service<\/strong><\/a>, everyone was waiting for the sequel; Kingsman: The Golden Circle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s state right away that making a sequel is usually complicated. You have to be able to create something new, something different and even more amazing than the first film while keeping the original components that made the first film a success.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

While watching the trailer 3 things come to mind:<\/h2>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0How were they able to bring Colin Firth\u2019s character back?<\/strong>
\n\u00a0 \u00a0A parade of stars: the Kingsman franchise became super hype!\u00a0<\/strong>It\u2019s even weirder to see that considering that the first movie did not rely on a super-famous cast. The film revolved around Taron Egerton\u2019s character even though Michael Caine, Colin Firth and Samuel L. Jackson also starred\u00a0 in it. Having an unknown actor as the star of the film, enables the audience to identify with the character. It makes the characters and the story more anchored in reality. Indeed, it\u2019s something M. Vaughn almost always do: have an unknown actor, or an unknown actor to the main public actor as the lead of his movies (Aaron Taylor-Johnson in \u201cKickass\u201d, Fassbender, J.McAvoy & J. Lawrence in \u201cX-Men First Class\u201d). Because he is very good at choosing his cast, they usually become famous soon after.
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The third thing you notice is the fact that the story is set in the USA with the Statesmen.<\/strong>\u00a0After spending the whole Kingsman<\/a><\/strong> movie teaching you that the British are far cooler than the Americans, Kingsman: the Golden Circle<\/strong> makes a U-turn to try to sell you that the Statesmen also live by the \u00ab\u00a0manners maketh man\u00a0\u00bb credo. But it\u2019s quite contradictory to how they behave in the movie.
\nSo then you wonder: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Did Kingsman 2 destroy everything Kingsman 1 build? Does Kingsman 2 live up to the hype of the series?<\/strong><\/h1>\n

I think that contrary to what I read online, the movie did pretty good even if I concede that Kingsman: The Golden Circle<\/strong> has a lot of flaws. It also makes me afraid for the following of the franchise.<\/p>\n

WHAT STILL WORKS<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Action!<\/strong><\/h2>\n

If M. Vaughn is good at something, it\u2019s filming action scenes: he has already proven it in Kingsman: the Secret Service<\/strong><\/a> and Kick-Ass.<\/p>\n

Kingsman: The Golden Circle <\/strong>is a real action movie like Kingsman 1<\/a><\/strong>. There are lot of pretty impressive action scenes. Indeed, the opening one is pretty awesome even though some could argue that it\u2019s not as great as the church scene in Kingsman 1<\/strong><\/a>. At least, it gets you in the mood of the film right away!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The pace of the film is quite nice even<\/strong> if some subplots force the story to go a bit slower. For instance, all the scenes with Eggsy about his relationships are not that interesting. But I do understand that the director wanted to develop Eggsy\u2019s personal life so he has one more reason to save the world<\/strong> (like in Kingsman 1<\/a><\/strong> where his mother and sister were in danger). \u00a0I read that some people found the scenes with Galahad\u2019s recovery too long but it didn\u2019t bother me. I\u2019d rather they take time to make you believe in his possible-but-not-evident-recovery than just rush it because they have some asses to kick.<\/p>\n

Bromance<\/strong><\/h2>\n

One of the elements that make Kingsman 1<\/a><\/strong> great is the relationship between Eggsy & Galahad. Mentor, substitute father, Colin Firth\u2019s character taught Eggsy everything he knows about being a man and a Kingsman<\/strong>. This relationship makes the audience involved and root for them.<\/p>\n

In The Golden Circle<\/strong>, you also witness the relationship between Eggsy and Merlin (Marc Strong) since the latter replace Galahad during his \u00ab\u00a0absence\u00a0\u00bb. It seems like it has to be an exclusive relationship to be real \u201cbromance\u201d (you\u2019ll understand when you see the movie).<\/p>\n

Still, the friendship between the Kingsmen<\/strong> is still here and make you care about them and thus about the story as well.<\/p>\n

The \u201csubversive\u201d humor<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Kingsman: the Secret Service\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong><\/a> also got famous thanks to that particular scene at the end of the first movie where Eggsy is rewarded for saving the world by being offered sexual favors by the Swedish princess\u2026! The famous sentence: \u201cwe can do it in the ass\u201d.\"\"<\/p>\n

Even if this sentence is used in the second movie as a reference and makes it less funny, the same irreverent humor is still here in Kingsman 2<\/strong>. Sexual jokes, wtf situations (like all the Elton John scenes) or just turning some characters to ridicule (Like the current POTUS who vaguely remind you of someone even if the movie was shot before he got elected\u2026), the impertinence is still here for our greatest pleasure.\u00a0<\/strong> This sequel movie makes reference to the first one, but it is mostly done with subtlety.<\/p>\n

Some pop culture and a great soundtrack.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The music is very important in this franchise, it is basically a character of the movie. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The theme of Kingsman<\/strong> is pretty great\u00a0and gets stuck in your head (it does reminds you a lot of the X-Men First class one though which was also composed by Matthew Margeson and Henry Jackman). But the highlight of the soundtrack is\u00a0the song choices<\/strong> that play on the action scenes. Who can forget the Church scene in \u201cKingsman: The Secret Service<\/strong><\/a>\u201d with \u201cFree Bird\u201d of Lynyrd Skynyrd while Colin Firth is slaying everyone? \u2026 or \u201cGive it up\u201d from KC and the Sunshine band plays while Valentine activates Doomsday and his disco ball!<\/p>\n

In \u201cthe Golden Circle<\/strong>\u201d, you have Elton John and a few of his songs in the movie. \u201cSaturday night’s alright for fighting\u201d gives rhythm to a huge action scene.<\/p>\n

\u201dTake me home, country roads\u201d from John Denver is quite important to the story and I bet you, you will never listen to it the same way after viewing the movie. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Lastly, \u201cLet\u2019s go crazy\u201d from Prince and the Revolution plays on the impressive opening sequence of the film.<\/p>\n

All these music features give you the impression that you\u2019re a watching an unconventional movie that doesn\u2019t take itself seriously, a rock and roll movie indeed<\/strong>.\"\"<\/p>\n

Moreover, the Kingsman movies<\/strong> make reference to popular films like \u201cPretty Woman\u201d, \u201cMy Fair Lady\u201d, the James Bond franchise or Indiana Jones\u2019. Referring to those through mimicking scenes from the original movies or simply make the characters say their titles make them close to us<\/strong>. Furthermore, it makes you think that the director not only likes those movies but knows you also do. It gives you the impression to watch a movie made by a man who resembles you <\/strong>and who is …cool!^^<\/p>\n

WHAT DOESN\u2019T WORK<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The villain is not scary<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The story of the film came to M. Vaughn in dreams <\/strong>(Directors should maybe stop writing their movie based on their dreams! It was the same thing with Darren Aronofsky: see the article on Mother!<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

The director said in the press kit: \u00ab I woke up one morning and I had the whole story in my head but the villain was causing problems. It is very hard to find a plot that is plausible, understandable and which would make sense today. \u00bb.<\/p>\n

So of course, it is great to have inspiration coming to you like that but one should not forget to work on it afterward. From his own confession, the villain part of the story was hard to write. The problem is that a good villain is of paramount in a spy movie as Galahad said to Valentine in \u201cKingsman: The Secret Service<\/strong><\/a>\u201d. It should probably have been the basis of the screenplay and not what came last.<\/p>\n

Indeed, Julianne Moore<\/strong> interprets Poppy, who is supposed to have the monopoly on narco trafficking in the world. For having watched the tv show \u201cNarcos\u00a0\u00bb,\u00a0 I know those criminals are another kind of scary. And her being one of them is hardly plausible. Even if she kills people as if it is nothing to her, you don\u2019t believe that she is threatening or really psychopathic<\/strong>. She is weird but not really scary. She doesn\u2019t have the charisma Mr. Valentine had<\/strong>, who was a nice counterbalance to Galahad. Not really sure if it is the writing of the character or the interpretation itself that poses problems, probably both. (Fun fact: Julianne Moore got the part through Colin Firth with whom she starred in \u201cA Single Man\u201d).<\/p>\n

Moreover, Poppy\u2019s motivations are not as clear and \u201clogical\u201d as Valentine\u2019s were<\/strong>. She basically screws up her whole business because she wants to be famous. She is also tired of hiding and being away from her beloved America (not that her actions would help her come back!).<\/p>\n

Her right-hand man is Charlie from Kingsman 1<\/strong><\/a> and he is not charismatic either. His only cool feature is his robotic arm. You don\u2019t really understand how he is protected by Poppy while he is still close to his ex. By the way, Poppy Delevingne\u2019s character is just ridiculous. I don\u2019t even know why she became so relevant to the story<\/strong>. She is the entry point to the rest of the bad guys but still as a pretext for that, it is not working.<\/p>\n

To sum up, the villain clan is really inconsistent and is not credible. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Thankfully, there are subplots that keep you distracted from only focusing on the villain’s \u201cthreat\u201d to the storyline on the coming back of the \u201coriginal\u201d Galahad. Without that, the story wouldn\u2019t have worked at all in my opinion.<\/p>\n

The problem with the Statesmen<\/strong><\/h2>\n

During the whole first Kingsman<\/a><\/strong> movie, British class is demonstrated to be the ultimate cool thing. And you have to agree when you watch the film. British equals awesome and more importantly, it means better than American. Basically, Americans like Valentine have no manners and think a hamburger is a gourmet dish.<\/p>\n

The problem with \u201cKingsman: The Golden Circle<\/strong>\u201d is that we are supposed to forget that and adhere to an American Kingsman concept: the Statesmen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

First of all, I won\u2019t discuss the casting of Channing Tatum<\/strong> as one of them but I must admit I wasn\u2019t too pleased with that. He interprets a \u201cbad boy\u201d agent, far from the smartness of a Kingsman<\/strong> (some complained about his short time on screen, I didn\u2019t^^). Halle Berry<\/strong> is the logistic expert but is no Merlin. Pedro Pascal <\/strong>is a bit misogynistic in not wanting that the former becomes a field agent. His fighting style is nonetheless cool even though seeing him saying the emblematic \u201cManners maketh man\u201d phrase is pretty laughable. And I am not even talking about his backstory… Finally, Jeff Bridges <\/strong>has the charisma of a leader but his role resumes to drinking whiskey while praising his agents.<\/p>\n

To sum up, Statesmen are not even close to Kingsmen in terms of \u201ccoolness\u201d and make them merge, is kind of unnatural<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Merch, merch, merch\"\"<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The placement product doesn\u2019t really bother me per say if it is well integrated to the movie. But in The \u201cGolden Circle\u201d, they really go for it. <\/strong><\/p>\n

In \u201cThe Secret Service<\/strong><\/a>\u201d, it was still somewhat discreet (the Macdonald\u2019s reference is not a product placement; the movie didn\u2019t receive any money from the company as citing them was more to criticize them rather than promoting them). They partnered with a friend of Vaughn who owns Mr Porter<\/a><\/strong>, a cloth brand, and\u00a0 did c<\/strong>ostumes <\/strong>during the first movie and they that sold instantly.<\/p>\n

In \u201cThe Golden Circle<\/strong>\u201d, the merch is part of the main story, they are vital objects for the agents.\u00a0One must admit that it is pretty brilliant since the extra dollars from them seems to benefit Marv Films<\/strong><\/a>, Vaughn\u2019s production company.<\/p>\n

Bourbon<\/strong><\/a>, costumes, perfume<\/strong><\/a>, deodorant, aftershave, everything can be purchased for the audience\u2019s own recreation. Vaughn got this idea after being forced to buy Disney merchandise for his children<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In this second movie<\/strong>, it becomes a bit much even though it is done the \u201cKingsman\u2019s way<\/strong>\u201d meaning super obviously and in a funny manner…so you forgive them!<\/p>\n

To conclude, I think saying the movie is a failure like I have read on some blogs, is exaggerated.<\/strong> Once again, making a successful sequel is not easy. I found the movie very entertaining and funny.<\/strong> It also moved me at times almost to tears (I\u2019m a sensitive person! but I am referencing to a particular scene, you will understand after seeing the movie). I didn\u2019t get the impression that I had been betrayed by the director-co screenwriter-producer of the film M. Vaughn<\/strong>. It can be sometime the case with a sequel: just a pretext to make more money easily at fans\u2019 expenses.<\/p>\n

I still believe the Kingsmen are the quintessence of cool and I will definitely go and watch them in a third movie.<\/strong> That being said, I\u2019m becoming slightly afraid for the future of the franchise especially after seeing the last scenes of \u201cKingsman: The Golden Circle<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

M. Vaughn should focus on what the audience loved in the first movie and maybe turn around the Statesman story rather than be pursuing it. \u00a0I guess you will have to wait and see, I am not feeling\u00a0serene though…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s un succ\u00e8s presque surprise avec Kingsman: Services Secrets<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/span>, tout le monde attendait la suite avec impatience: Kingsman: Le cercle d\u2019or<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Alors ce n\u2019est jamais facile de faire une suite. Il faut pouvoir se renouveler tout en gardant les codes qui ont fait le succ\u00e8s de l\u2019original. Une op\u00e9ration toujours p\u00e9rilleuse.<\/p>\n

En voyant la bande annonce, trois choses interpellent:<\/h2>\n

  1. Le retour de Colin Firth : Comment ont-ils pu faire \u00e7a ?<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Le d\u00e9fil\u00e9 de stars : Est-ce que Kingsman est devenu \u00e0 ce point hype ?<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    C\u2019est assez bizarre de constater cela lorsque l\u2019on consid\u00e8re que le premier film n’\u00e9tait pas forc\u00e9ment base sur un casting hyper connu. M\u00eame si l\u2019affiche comportait Samuel L Jackson, Colin Firth ou encore Michael Caine, le film parlait surtout de l’histoire d\u2019Eggsy interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 par Taron Egerton, \u00e0 l’\u00e9poque totalement inconnu.<\/p>\n

    Caster un inconnu pour jouer le r\u00f4le principal permet aux spectateurs de s\u2019identifier plus facilement \u00e0 lui et d’ancrer l’histoire dans le r\u00e9el. Law in X-Men: First class etc. Parce qu\u2019il est si dou\u00e9 \u00e0 caster des talents qui montent, ces acteurs deviennent tr\u00e8s vite connus apr\u00e8s avoir tourn\u00e9 avec lui.<\/p>\n

    3. L’histoire se poursuit aux USA avec les Statesman.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9tabli que les British \u00e9taient bien plus classes que les am\u00e9ricains dans le premier film, on fait un virage \u00e0 180 degr\u00e9s avec Kingsman<\/span><\/strong>: le cercle d\u2019or<\/strong><\/span> pour nous vendre qu’en fait les am\u00e9ricains aussi sont cool et connaissent la devise \u201cmanners maketh man<\/span><\/strong>\u201d(Les mani\u00e8res font l\u2019homme). Ce qui est contradictoire quand on voit comment ils se comportent dans le film.<\/p>\n

    Kingsman 2<\/span><\/strong> comme son pr\u00e9d\u00e9cesseur est un vrai film d\u2019action plut\u00f4t bien rythm\u00e9 ! On a droit \u00e0 des sc\u00e8nes super impressionnantes, peut-\u00eatre pas \u00e0 la hauteur de celle de l’\u00c9glise de Kingsman: Services secrets<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/span> mais la sc\u00e8ne d\u2019ouverture du cercle d\u2019or est pas mal et met dans le bain tout de suite.<\/p>\n

    Le rythme du film est toujours agr\u00e9able<\/span><\/strong> m\u00eame si ici des subplots force l\u2019intrigue \u00e0 aller un peu moins vite. Par exemple, toutes les sc\u00e8nes concernant Eggsy et son couple ne sont pas des plus int\u00e9ressantes mais je con\u00e7ois que Vaughn ait voulu d\u00e9velopper la vie personnelle d\u2019Eggsy pour qu\u2019il ait une raison de sauver le monde<\/span><\/strong> qui le touche plus (comme dans le 1 avec sa m\u00e8re et sa soeur). Certains d\u00e9plorent que les sc\u00e8nes avec Colin Firth soient trop longues mais \u00e7a ne m\u2019a pas d\u00e9rang\u00e9. Je pr\u00e9f\u00e8re que l\u2019on prenne le temps pour me faire avaler le retour de son personnage plut\u00f4t que l\u2019on ne l’exp\u00e9die au nom du fait qu\u2019on veuille voir des mecs se faire taper avec style.<\/p>\n

    Un des piliers du premier opus est la relation entre Eggsy et Galahad. Mentor, p\u00e8re de substitution, il lui apprend tout ce qu\u2019il sait afin de devenir un homme et un Kingsman<\/span><\/strong>. Cette relation nous embarque aussi, spectateurs et nous pousse \u00e0 nous rallier \u00e0 eux.<\/p>\n

    Dans l<\/span>e Cercle d’Or<\/span><\/strong>, on voit surtout la relation entre Eggsy et Merlin, puisque ce dernier remplace un peu Galahad pour Eggsy pendant son \u201cabsence\u201d… jusqu\u2019au retour de Galahad. On a un peu l\u2019impression que la bromance doit rester exclusive\u2026 Vous comprendrez en voyant le film.<\/p>\n

    Toujours est-il que cette histoire d\u2019amiti\u00e9 fonctionne encore dans ce film et nous investi \u00e9motionnellement.<\/p>\n

    L\u2019humour \u201csubversif\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

    Kingsman s\u2019est aussi fait par cette sc\u00e8ne \u00e0 la fin du 1<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/span> o\u00f9 Eggsy se fait r\u00e9compenser d\u2019avoir sauv\u00e9 le monde par une proposition sexuelle des plus all\u00e9chantes avec la fameuse phrase: \u201con peut le faire par derri\u00e8re\u201d.<\/p>\n

    M\u00eame si cette phrase est r\u00e9f\u00e9renc\u00e9e dans Kingsman: Le Cercle d\u2019Or<\/span><\/strong> et que du coup cette blague-ci n\u2019est plus tr\u00e8s dr\u00f4le, l\u2019humour d\u00e9capant de Kingsman est toujours l\u00e0. Blagues graveleuses, situations improbables (notamment toutes celles avec Elton John) ou se foutre carr\u00e9ment de certains personnages (comme le pr\u00e9sident des USA qui nous rappelle vaguement quelqu\u2019un\u2026 m\u00eame si le film a \u00e9t\u00e9 tourn\u00e9 avant son investiture\u2026), l\u2019impertinence est toujours l\u00e0 pour notre plus grand plaisir<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    La pop culture et une musique d\u2019enfer<\/span><\/h2>\n

    La bande son a une grande importance dans cette franchise.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Le th\u00e8me musical est vraiment bien et reste dans la t\u00eate m\u00eame s’il rappelle tr\u00e8s fortement la musique de \u201cX-MEN first class\u201d egalement compos\u00e9e par Matthew Margeson et Henry Jackman. Mais le clou du spectacle est bien sur le choix des chansons<\/span><\/strong> accompagnant les sc\u00e8nes d\u2019action.<\/p>\n

    Qui a oubli\u00e9 la sc\u00e8ne de l’\u00c9glise dans Kingsman: Services secrets<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/span> sur \u201cFree Bird\u201d de Lynyrd Skynyrd\u2026 ou la chanson \u201cGive it up\u201d quand Valentine active \u201cDoomsday\u201d et sa boule \u00e0 facettes ! Dans Kingsman: le Cercle d\u2019Or<\/span><\/strong>, \u00a0nous avons Elton John et quelques unes de ses chansons notamment \u201cSaturday night’s alright for fighting\u201d venant rythmer une sc\u00e8ne muscl\u00e9e. \u201dTake me home, country roads\u201d de John Denver a une grande place dans le film et je parie que vous ne l’\u00e9couterez plus de la m\u00eame fa\u00e7on apr\u00e8s l\u2019avoir vu<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Pour finir, l’impressionnante sc\u00e8ne d\u2019ouverture de Golden Circle est jou\u00e9 sur \u201cLet’s go crazy\u201d de Prince and the Revolution.<\/p>\n

    Cela nous donne l’impression de voir un film non-format\u00e9, qui ne se prend pas au s\u00e9rieux, un film rock and roll quoi<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    De plus, les films Kingsman<\/span><\/strong> font r\u00e9f\u00e9rences \u00e0 des films tr\u00e8s populaires comme \u201cPretty Woman\u201d , \u201cMy Fair Lady\u201d, \u201cJames Bond\u201d ou encore \u201cIndiana Jones\u201d. Citer ce genre de r\u00e9f\u00e9rences que ce soit \u00e0 travers des sc\u00e8nes, clins d\u2019oeil ou tout simplement les faire dire par les personnages nous rend proche d\u2019eux<\/span><\/strong>. A fortiori, on se dit que le r\u00e9alisateur non seulement aime ces films mais aussi sait que nous les connaissons et les appr\u00e9cions aussi. On a l’impression de regarder un film fait par un homme qui nous ressemble<\/span><\/strong> et qui est… cool ! ^^<\/p>\n

    CE QUI FONCTIONNE MOINS BIEN<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

    Le \u201cvilain\u201d qui n\u2019est pas mena\u00e7ant.<\/span><\/h2>\n

    L\u2019intrigue du film est venu \u00e0 M. Vaughn en r\u00eaves<\/span><\/strong> (d\u00e9cid\u00e9ment il va falloir que les r\u00e9alisateurs arr\u00eatent de se baser sur leur r\u00eave pour \u00e9crire leur sc\u00e9nario ! C\u2019\u00e9tait \u00e9galement le cas avec Darren \u00a0Aronofsky ! voir l\u2019article sur Mother!<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/span>).<\/p>\n

    \u00ab Je me suis r\u00e9veill\u00e9 un matin avec toute l\u2019intrigue du film en t\u00eate, mais le m\u00e9chant me posait probl\u00e8me. C\u2019est tr\u00e8s d\u00e9licat de trouver un complot qui soit plausible, compr\u00e9hensible et qui ait du sens aujourd\u2019hui. \u00bb dit-il dans le dossier de presse.<\/p>\n

    Alors c\u2019est g\u00e9nial d\u2019\u00eatre touch\u00e9 par la gr\u00e2ce mais il ne faut pas oublier de bosser dessus apr\u00e8s. De sa propre confession, m\u00eame si la trame principale est venue tout de suite donc, tout ce qui concerne le \u201cvilain\u201d principal a \u00e9t\u00e9 dur \u00e0 trouver. Le probl\u00e8me est que comme dit Galahad \u00e0 M. Valentine dans Kingsman 1<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/span>, \u201cun bon film d’espionnage c\u2019est avant tout un bon m\u00e9chant\u201d et ici c\u2019est l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ment qui lui manquait alors que sans doute cela aurait d\u00fb \u00eatre le premier \u00e9l\u00e9ment et la base du sc\u00e9nario.<\/p>\n

    En effet, le personnage de Poppy interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 par Julianne Moore<\/span><\/strong> est cens\u00e9 avoir le monopole sur le trafic de drogue mondial. Pour avoir regard\u00e9 la s\u00e9rie Narcos, si c\u2019est elle qui fait peur \u00e0 tous les cartels du monde, laissez-moi rire. Alors oui elle tue des gens sur des coups de t\u00eate mais on croit pas du tout qu’elle soit mena\u00e7ante ou vraiment<\/span><\/strong> psychopathe.<\/span><\/strong> Elle est bizarre mais ne fait pas peur. Elle n\u2019a pas non plus le charisme de M. Valentine<\/span><\/strong> qui faisait un bon contrepoids \u00e0 Galahad, et Julianne Moore ne d\u00e9livre pas une interpr\u00e9tation convaincante non plus. Elle a d\u2019ailleurs obtenu le r\u00f4le via Colin Firth avec qui elle a tourn\u00e9 dans \u201cA Single Man\u201d.<\/p>\n

    Bref, un m\u00e9chant en demi teinte qui sabote elle-m\u00eame sa premi\u00e8re source de revenus car elle veut \u00eatre connue ? Ses motivations n\u2019ont pas vraiment de sens lorsque ceux de Valentine<\/span><\/strong> \u00e9taient tr\u00e8s clairs et quelque part \u201clogique\u201d…<\/p>\n

    Son bras droit, Charlie du num\u00e9ro 1 n\u2019a pas fi\u00e8re allure non plus, sauf peut-\u00eatre gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son bras robotique. On ne comprend pas comment il arrive \u00e0 plaire autant \u00e0 Poppy (et donc rester en vie) pendant qu\u2019il fr\u00e9quente encore son ex. A ce propos, le personnage de Poppy Delevingne est juste ridicule. Je comprends m\u00eame pas comment elle a pu \u00eatre aussi importante dans l\u2019intrigue.<\/span><\/strong> Elle fait figure de pr\u00e9texte \u00e0 ce que les Kingsman ait une piste vers Poppy mais c\u2019est vraiment tirer par les cheveux.<\/p>\n

    Heureusement que les subplots et notamment l\u2019histoire autour de Colin Firth et des conflits internes aux Kingsman viennent nous distraire et apporter des couches \u00e0 cette histoire qui n\u2019aurait pas du tout fonctionn\u00e9 si elle avait \u00e9t\u00e9 int\u00e9gralement centr\u00e9e sur la menace de l\u2019antagoniste principal.<\/p>\n

    Durant tout Kingsman: Services Secrets<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/span>, on nous a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 la British touch<\/span><\/strong>, la classe \u00e0 l’anglaise comme le summum du cool, le but \u00e0 atteindre, tout \u00e7a pour qu’on essaye de nous vendre leurs homologues am\u00e9ricains dans le film suivant.<\/p>\n

    Rappelons que le 1er film a aussi \u00e9t\u00e9 bas\u00e9 en grande partie sur le fait que les am\u00e9ricains ont tout faux niveau mani\u00e8re Le personnage de Valentine prenait un hamburger Mcdo comme un repas gourmet et ne savait pas s’habiller convenablement.<\/p>\n

    Ici on essaye de nous faire aimer les Statesman<\/span><\/strong> mais \u00e7a ne prend pas trop. D\u2019une, je ne reviendrai pas sur le choix de Channing Tatum<\/span><\/strong> pour se joindre au film mais bon, je n’\u00e9tais pas emball\u00e9e rien qu’\u00e0 cette id\u00e9e. Son personnage est un \u201cbad boy\u201d bien loin de la perspicacit\u00e9 des Kingsman<\/strong><\/span> (certains reprochent son peu de temps \u00e0 l’\u00e9cran, pas moi^^.<\/p>\n

    Halle Berry<\/span><\/strong> est l’experte logistique mais n’arrive pas \u00e0 la cheville de Merlin. Pedro Pasca<\/span>l<\/span><\/strong> est \u00e0 moiti\u00e9 misogyne (ne voulant pas que sa coll\u00e8gue f\u00e9minine soit un agent sur le terrain) et m\u00eame si il a un style de combat tr\u00e8s cool, le voir dire \u201cManners maketh man\u201d<\/span><\/strong> est assez risible. Et je ne parle m\u00eame pas de sa backstory et de ses motivations.<\/p>\n

    Jeff Bridges<\/span><\/strong> a le charisme pour faire le leader du groupe bien que son r\u00f4le se contente \u00e0 boire du whiskey \u00e0 la sant\u00e9 de ses agents.<\/p>\n

    Bref les Statesman c’est autre chose, et les faire fusionner avec les Kingsman c\u2019est quand m\u00eame un peu contre nature.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Le placement de produit bien fait \u00e7e ne me d\u00e9range pas mais c’est vrai que dans ce film ils n’y vont pas de mains mortes<\/span><\/strong>. Dans le 1, il y en avait aussi mais c’\u00e9tait plus discret. Attention, la r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 Mcdo n’en \u00e9tait pas vraiment une, car la marque n’a pas pay\u00e9 et c\u2019\u00e9tait plut\u00f4t pour desservir la marque plut\u00f4t que pour la mettre en valeur (voir notre rencontre avec le\u00a0realisateur et Colin Firth a l’occasion de Kingsman: Services secrets ici<\/strong><\/span><\/a>). M. Vaughn a fait un partenariat avec un ami: MR PORTER<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/a> et ont cr\u00e9e des costumes bases sur ceux du premier film et ont \u00e9t\u00e9 vendus tout de suite.<\/p>\n

    Ici, les produits d\u00e9riv\u00e9s sont int\u00e9gr\u00e9s au sc\u00e9nario. Le parfum et le d\u00e9odorant Kingsman<\/span><\/strong> sont des produits qui sont des gadgets essentiels \u00e0 la survie des agents. On doit admettre que c’est assez brillants pour r\u00e9colter des extra dollars pour M. Vaughn, car il semblerait que ce soit sa boite de production M<\/span><\/a><\/span>arv films<\/span><\/span><\/strong> qui en r\u00e9colte les fruits.<\/p>\n

    Bourbon<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/a>, costumes, parfum<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/span>, after shave tout y passe pour amuser les adultes encore enfants comme dit M. Vaughn. Apparement il aurait eu cette id\u00e9e en s’inspirant des produits d\u00e9riv\u00e9s Disney que ses enfants lui force a acheter<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n

    Je n\u2019ai pas eu l\u2019impression d\u2019avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 trahie par le r\u00e9alisateur-co-sc\u00e9nariste-producteur M. Vaughn ce qui peut souvent \u00eatre le cas de franchises qui survivent que pour engranger de l\u2019argent \u201cfacilement\u201d sur le dos des fans.<\/span><\/strong> Je pense toujours que les Kingsman sont la quintessence du cool et je les reverrai bien une 3eme fois \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cran. Mais je tire tout de m\u00eame la sonnette d\u2019alarme pour la suite.<\/p>\n

    Il s\u2019agirait de ne pas oublier ce qui nous a fait tomber amoureux de la franchise et de redresser la barre.<\/span> Pas s\u00fbr que \u00e7a soit le cas quand on voit les derni\u00e8res images du film qui tease le 3eme\u2026<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
