After “Don Jon” & “Sin City 2“, Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play the IT engineer Edward Snowden. Olivier Stone, who knows this kind of topics very well, signed to direct the movie based on the true story. Indeed, Snowden is an IT engineer who ignited the polemic after disclosed critical information when he worked before at the CIA and the NASA. Since then, he is hiding in Russia.
The title of the movie will be The Snowden Files.
Between the spy movie and political thriller, we wonder how the actor is going to approach the role. With a strong dramatic potential, it might be his first great role.
Truth is, we left quite disappointed after his short and under exploited apparition in the last Sin City 2. We are expecting a lot from the talented actor. It might be also a real occasion for the director to show his ambition after the average “Savages”.
We will follow the project until its release in 2015.
