After the LEGO movie’s success, here’s the movie PIXELS adapted from the same entitled short-film from the French Patrick Jean. It’s Chris Columbus that is directing it, his filmography includes “The Gremlins”, “The Goonies” or the two first “Harry Potter” movies.
The casting includes Adam Sandler, Michelle Monaghan and Peter Dinklage a.k.a Tyrion in ” Game of Thrones”.
The pitch:
Aliens misinterpret video-feeds of classic arcade games and take them as a declaration of war. They attack the Earth, using the games as models for their various assaults. Video game champion Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), will lead a team of old-school arcaders (Peter Dinklage and Josh Gad) to defeat the aliens and save the planet.
Characters from video games Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Frogger, and Donkey Kong should be appear on screen.
Le film will be released on july 24th 2015.
