It’s December which means it’s the last chance for Awards-potential-movies to get a release & be able to be nominated. So here’s the trailers of the 10 most expected movies for this month ! enjoy !

Exodus 

We had the chance to see it and just because Christian Bale is in it & plays Moses, it’s worth watching (recently seen in “American Hustle“).

Inherent Vice

The film just received a Film Independent Spirit Award nomination for the Robert Altman Award. The casting is composed of Joaquin Phoenix (with whom he did “The Master”), Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson, Benicio Del Toro, Josh Brolin, Jena Malone and  Maya Rudolph. The movie is directed by Paul Thomas Anderson director of “Magnolia” & “Punch Drunk Love” which we love !

The Hobbit : The Battle of the Five Armies

We are big fans of the Lord of the Rings! It’s the last movie of the Hobbit trilogy & thus surely a must-see!  #OneLastTime.

Casting includes Martin Freeman, Evangeline Lilly, Richard Armitage and Orlando Bloom.

Release Date : December, 17th

American Sniper

The film is directed by Clint Eastwood & made a good impression at the AFI Fest! It might be up for  Award nominations as well. (see our article here)

Big Eyes

A movie is directed by Tim Burton. Starring Amy Adams & Christoph Waltz. The screenplay is by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, same team as for “Ed Wood”. The film recently received a Film Independent Spirit Award nomination for best screenplay. It deals with the story of painter Margaret Keane, whose husband took credit for her “kitschy” paintings of women and children with big dark eyes. There are rumors about possible Oscars nominations for both actors.

Unbroken

The movie is directed by Angelina Jolie & with the Cohen Brothers as part of the screenwriters team. It deals with the true story of World War II hero Louis Zamperini, former Olympic Runner, whose plane was shot down and  then survived in a raft for 47 days and then caught by the Japanese Navy. Jack O’Connell will be playing Zamperini (seen in “Starred Up”). The movie might be nominated for Oscars too, for best picture & even other categories.

Into The Woods

The Disney film version of the popular Stephen Sondheim’s Broadway musical directed by Rob Marshall (“Chicago” & “Memoirs of A Geisha”). The film cast includes Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, Emily Blunt, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Tracey Ullman and Christine Baranski. The film is an Oscar-nominee frontrunner!

A Most Violent Year

The film is directed by J.C.Chandor (“Margin Call”, “All is lost”) with casting including Jessica Chastain and Oscar Isaac. The film sets in 1981 which was said to be the worst year on record for violent crimes in New York City. Isaac plays businessman with principles trying to preserve his business while surrounded by mobsters while Chastain plays the tough daughter of a Brooklyn mobster. The film recently received Film Independent Spirit Award nominations for best screenplay, best supporting female and best editing.
